September Cottage at Wenhaston

September Cottage is a traditional brick and flint cottage believed to date back to the late 1700s. It is set in the heart of the village opposite St Peter’s church, famous for its Doom painting. The cottage has been thoroughly restored, retaining its charm and character with many original features yet with a contemporary touch and the benefits of modern living.  There are good pubs an easy walk away and many footpaths around the village! One well-behaved dog is welcome here!

Guest reviews

  • We have stayed at September Cottage many times over the years and it always feels like our very own home away from home. It is perfectly situated in the middle of Wenhaston within easy walking distance of all the village amenities. The cottage is extremely cosy with a sweet little garden. A welcome bottle of wine awaits guests upon arrival. Both Trish and the owner John live in the village and are immediately available should you have any additional needs. September Cottage is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy exploring the Suffolk coast and countryside. J& B L October 2022

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at September Cottage in Wenhaston. We decided to return to September Cottage as we like the open plan layout, which gives us the best of both worlds: the cottagey feel of the living area, but also a bright and airy extension with view of the garden. And we love the addition of the pergola at the back of the garden - a place where we could enjoy the afternoon/evening sun. Lovely. September Cottage is perfectly placed for trips to the coast and inland, to explore the pretty market towns. Also, two local pubs are within walking distance, which is a real bonus. We 'discovered' 3 more local walks during this visit, and particularly liked the one that started at the Dingle Hill Tearooms. S&BL May 2022

  • We really enjoyed our week in Wenhaston, such a lovely friendly village. We loved there being so many walks from the door, new places for whippet Ruby to explore, and being so close to the coast. JM May 2022

  • We had a lovely week with perfect weather. We met John, the owner, and he was very friendly and pleasant. J&GC September 2021

  • Just back from a lovely week in Suffolk. The cottage was great, as was the Star! The welcome bottle of Villa Maria was appreciated too. Hope it's not too long before we return, such a beautiful area. RL June 2021
