In
the vicinity - You
will be only a quarter of an hour from the famous beaches
at the resorts of Southwold, and Walberswick with its world
crab fishing contest, and less than half an hour from the
RSPB sanctuary of Minsmere. Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh are
within easy reach.
The village of Holton lies at the head of the Blyth Valley
which is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The river has sea trout and bass lower down, also otters.
In the estuaries and marshland can be found marsh harriers,
avocets, oyster catchers and birds which can rarely be seen
anywhere else in Britain. In the walks round the back of the
cottage are lakes and sand martins.
Less
than a mile away the quiet market town of Halesworth is ideal
for supplies, takeaways and restaurants; and boasts a theatre/arts
centre - The New Cut. There is also a local golf course. The
wider area is perfect for the classic seaside holiday, walking,
cycling, bird watching, fishing and the various music festivals.
