and the unspoiled seaside towns of Southwold, Walberswick,
Dunwich and Aldeburgh are a short drive away. A wealth of
activities is on offer, including sunbathing, walking, crabbing,
fishing, golfing sailing and cycling - Cycle hire is available
from nearby Darsham.
For
the birdwatcher, the world-famous RSPB reserve at Minsmere
with its colonies of rare species, such as bitterns and avocets,
is a must and lies just six miles away. Please note that the
cottage owner's husband is a keen local birdwatcher and would
be happy to provide up-to-the-minute news of birds and wildlife
via mobile phone on request.
For
music lovers, nearby Snape Maltings is a concert venue of
internation al note with year-round events and a famous festival
every June.
